We both had slave parents, and we lived in cruel times where blacks and whites didn't get along well. You and I were African-American people who went through more than enough to change the way people view us and assumed we would be in a business. But we succeeded.
Madam, how interesting your life is! I can say that we are similar in some ways. We are both women who become successful independently. We also had a rough childhood. But my childhood wasn't nearly as hard as yours. My family was pretty poor when I was young, but having to pick cotton at five years old is much worse. I highly commend you for that. You overcame the hardship and became extremely successful. The hard work really does pay off! I can't wait to talk more at dinner and see what else we might have in common!
